Voxel Blade is a project I managed for university, making the characters, animations and some of the programming for.
It is animated in a very unique way, albeit a very inefficient one: It is animated frame by frame, like 2D pixel art, with a new mesh for each frame. This was done for absolute consistency (everything within each mesh is perfectly in line) and for sheer uniqueness.
Was it efficient or clever? NOPE! but it functioned perfectly well, and it was the first project I ever created on a complete whim.
